Responsibility
- Provide comprehensive prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care for individuals and families, including routine exams, risk assessments, birth planning, and ongoing counseling.
- Support labor and delivery with skilled assessment, management of normal labor, pain relief options, and timely interventions as needed.
- Develop and communicate personalized birth plans, informed consent, and postpartum care plans.
- Collaborate with obstetricians, pediatricians, nurses, and allied health professionals to ensure top-quality, coordinated care.
- Educate patients on prenatal nutrition, healthy lifestyle choices, breastfeeding, newborn care, and postpartum recovery.
- Document care in Electronic Health Records with accuracy, privacy, and compliance to regulations.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a respectful, inclusive maternity care environment.
- Provide compassionate advocacy and support for patients and families throughout the maternity journey.
Qualification
- Active CNM certification and Oregon state licensure.
- Minimum 2+ years of clinical midwifery experience in prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care.
- Strong knowledge of evidence-based maternity care and labor management protocols.
- Excellent communication, counseling, and patient-education skills; culturally sensitive with diverse populations.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and pediatric teams in a multidisciplinary setting.
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) and compliant clinical documentation practices.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including some evenings or weekends as needed.
