Job description

Blue Horizon Midwifery Collective is seeking an experienced Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM) to join our compassionate birth team in Portland, Oregon. As a CNM with our team, you will provide full-scope midwifery care across prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum periods, with a strong emphasis on family-centered care, cultural sensitivity, and shared decision-making.

Responsibility

  • Provide comprehensive prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care in alignment with evidence-based guidelines.
  • Attend and manage births in collaboration with clients, offering informed choices, comfort measures, and emergency readiness.
  • Perform thorough newborn assessments and contribute to lactation support and early bonding.
  • Develop individualized care plans, educate families, and promote informed decision-making.
  • Collaborate with obstetricians, nurses, doulas, and other team members to ensure safe, high-quality care.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in risk assessment, escalation processes, and emergency management when necessary.
  • Provide well-woman care, contraception counseling, and community education as appropriate.

Qualification

  • Current Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM) license in Oregon or eligibility for licensure.
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical midwifery experience or demonstrated competency in full-scope CNM care.
  • Active BLS and NRP certifications; ACLS preferred.
  • Excellent communication, cultural humility, and patient-centered approach.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records and documentation standards.
  • Ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment.
