Willamette Valley Midwifery Collective is seeking a compassionate and skilled Licensed Midwife (CNM/LM) to join our collaborative team in Portland, OR. We provide holistic, evidence-based care across antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum periods, with a focus on family-centered birth experiences.
In this role you will partner with obstetricians, doulas, and nurses to deliver exceptional care in a warm, supportive environment. The caseload includes low to moderate risk pregnancies, water births, and birth options aligned with client preference and clinical guidelines.

Responsibility
- Provide comprehensive prenatal care and risk assessment in collaboration with clients and the care team.
- Lead labor and birth support with effective communication and dynamic decision making for safe deliveries.
- Perform newborn assessments and immediate postpartum care with lactation support referrals as needed.
- Educate clients on birth plans, informed consent, pain management options, and postpartum recovery.
- Document care in electronic medical records with thorough and compliant charting.
- Collaborate with physicians, doulas, nurses, and ancillary staff to ensure seamless care transitions.
- Participate in on call rotations and weekend coverage as required by the practice.
- Promote culturally responsive care and advocate for patient autonomy and informed choice.
Qualification
- Active license as CNM or LM in Oregon or eligible for licensure; CPM considered if eligible.
- Current CPR and NRP certification; ACLS optional depending on setting.
- Minimum 3-5 years of midwifery experience in low to moderate risk settings.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to evidence-based practice and patient-centered care; ability to explain complex information to diverse populations.
- Experience with water births, birth centers, or home birth settings preferred.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records and documentation standards.
- Fluency in English; additional languages valued for diverse communities in Portland.
