Responsibility

  • Provide comprehensive prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care for assigned clients, including risk assessment and care planning.
  • Manage labor and birth with continuous support, pain management options, and timely escalation when needed.
  • Develop individualized birth plans and collaborate with the care team to optimize outcomes.
  • Conduct well-woman exams, contraception counseling, and preventive care for families.
  • Coordinate with obstetricians, nurses, lactation consultants, and social workers to ensure holistic care.
  • Document care in the electronic medical record with accuracy and compliance.
  • Provide newborn assessment, lactation support, and guidance to families during the postpartum period.

Qualification

  • Current NY State license or certification as a CNM (or eligible) with board certification.
  • Master’s degree or Doctor of Nursing Practice with a specialization in midwifery (CNM).
  • Minimum 3+ years of clinical midwifery experience in diverse populations.
  • Strong knowledge of evidence-based obstetric care, risk assessment, and perinatal safety.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across interdisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional nights, weekends, and on-call coverage.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) and patient education tools.
  • BLS/ACLS and NRP certifications; commitment to ongoing professional development.
