Responsibility
- Provide comprehensive prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care to assigned clients, with an emphasis on safety and evidence-based practice.
- Lead labor support, risk assessment, and clinical decision-making in collaboration with obstetricians, nurses, and support staff.
- Perform routine and advanced midwifery procedures within scope, including wellness checks, labor management, and emergency interventions when required.
- Develop individualized care plans, educate patients and families on newborn care, lactation, and postpartum recovery.
- Document care in the electronic health record (EHR), ensure privacy compliance, and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
- Foster a welcoming, culturally responsive environment that respects diverse family structures and beliefs.
- Participate in on-call rotations, team meetings, and continuing education activities to maintain clinical excellence.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate seamless transitions from birth center to home or hospital as needed.
Qualification
- Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM) with current license to practice in Oregon or eligibility to obtain licensure in the United States.
- Master's degree in Nursing or Doctor of Nursing Practice with a focus on midwifery.
- Minimum 2-3 years of hands-on midwifery experience; new graduates may be considered with a robust residency and demonstrated competency.
- Active BLS, NRP, and ACLS certifications; strong neonatal and obstetric emergency skills.
- Strong knowledge of evidence-based guidelines (AWHONN, ACOG) and commitment to continued professional development.
- Excellent communication, empathy, and collaborative teamwork; demonstrated ability to support families in high-stress situations.
- Experience with electronic health records (EPIC preferred) and patient-centered care planning.
- Eligibility to work in the United States and ability to obtain necessary credentials in Oregon.
