Responsibility

  • Provide comprehensive prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care for low and medium-risk pregnancies
  • Support safe, patient-centered births including continuous labor support and management of labor progression
  • Perform routine exams, order and interpret labs, and assess fetal well-being
  • Develop individualized birth plans and provide education on prenatal nutrition, breastfeeding, and newborn care
  • Collaborate with obstetricians, nurses, and lactation consultants to coordinate care
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR and ensure compliance with state and facility policies
  • Provide counseling and support for family planning, contraception, and postpartum recovery
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to staff training

Qualification

  • Current Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM) certification and licensure in Oregon or eligibility to obtain licensure
  • Active BLS/ACLS certification and obstetric emergency response skills
  • Minimum 2+ years of clinical midwifery experience in prenatal, birth, and postpartum care
  • Excellent communication, empathy, cultural sensitivity, and advocacy for patients
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team and manage emergencies calmly
