Key responsibilities include delivering high-quality intrapartum and antepartum care, formulating comprehensive birth plans with clients, and coordinating with obstetricians, nurses, and lactation consultants to ensure optimal outcomes for mothers and babies.
Responsibility
- Provide comprehensive prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care, including risk assessment, counseling, and management of low- to high-risk pregnancies.
- Perform routine examinations, order and interpret relevant tests, and develop individualized birth plans.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and support staff to coordinate care and ensure patient safety and positive outcomes.
- Support and educate patients on contraception, breastfeeding, family planning, and birth options.
- Lead labor support and perform normal deliveries, with escalation plans for complications as needed.
- Provide postpartum follow-up, lactation support, and referrals to community resources.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain up-to-date clinical documentation in the EMR system.
- Engage in patient education programs and community outreach to promote maternal health.
Qualification
- Current and unrestricted MN or MSN degree with CNM certification from a accredited program.
- Active RN license in the state of Washington and CNM credentialing.
- Minimum 3 years of obstetric care experience; experience in high-risk obstetrics preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment, decision-making, and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities; patient-centered and culturally competent care approach.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends or evenings as needed.
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EMR) and basic computer skills.
- Commitment to continuing education and professional development.
