Job description

VitalPeak Fitness Club is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Fitness Coach and Programs Lead to elevate member results and lead our fitness team in San Diego. This studio based, high energy role focuses on program development, staff mentorship, and exceptional member experiences.

In this role you will design evidence based training programs, conduct assessments, lead group classes, and collaborate with nutrition and recovery services. You will mentor trainers, ensure safety standards, and contribute to community outreach to grow membership.

Responsibility

  • Design and oversee comprehensive fitness programs for individuals and groups, aligned with member goals and safety guidelines.
  • Lead and coach group fitness classes, workshops, and specialty programs with passion and professionalism.
  • Perform initial health assessments, set personalized goals, monitor progress, and adjust programs accordingly.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor fitness staff; establish mentorship and continuing education plans.
  • Ensure facility safety protocols, equipment maintenance, and adherence to local regulations and certifications.
  • Collaborate with nutrition and rehab specialists to create holistic wellness plans for members.
  • Drive member engagement, retention campaigns, and community events to foster a thriving fitness culture.
  • Analyze program outcomes using data and member feedback to continuously improve offerings.

Qualification

  • Minimum 5 years of professional fitness coaching experience with leadership responsibilities.
  • Certified Personal Trainer or equivalent through NASM, ACE, NSCA, or similar body.
  • Current CPR and AED certification; strong knowledge of anatomy, biomechanics and injury prevention.
  • Proven track record in designing effective programs for diverse populations and all fitness levels.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and motivational skills; ability to manage a team and deliver high energy classes.
  • Data driven with ability to track metrics and adapt programs accordingly.
  • Facility management or operations experience is a plus; comfortable with technology and scheduling tools.
