Responsibility
- Provide evidence based antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care to a diverse caseload of women and families
- Perform comprehensive risk assessments and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with the wider team
- Support natural birth options and actively monitor both maternal and fetal well being during labor and birth
- Educate clients on pregnancy birth choices breastfeeding and newborn care to enable informed decisions
- Coordinate with obstetricians pediatric and other specialists to ensure seamless high quality care
- Maintain accurate timely documentation and ensure compliance with local guidelines and safeguarding requirements
- Participate in service development quality improvement initiatives and on call rotations as required
Qualification
- Registration with the NMC or equivalent regulatory body with current practicing status in the UK
- Minimum 2 years post qualification midwifery experience in maternity settings
- Bachelor of Science in Midwifery or equivalent; postregistration qualification desirable
- Strong knowledge of evidence based guidelines safeguarding infection control and neonate care principles
- Excellent communication empathy cultural sensitivity and patient advocacy skills
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team with flexible on call shifts
