We are seeking a licensed midwife who is passionate about patient-centered care, cultural humility, and continuous learning. In this role, you will partner with obstetricians, nurses, doulas, and support staff to provide safe, empowering care for diverse families.
Responsibility
- Provide evidence-based midwifery care across prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum periods.
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessment, screen for complications, and coordinate timely referrals when needed.
- Develop and discuss birth plans in partnership with families, promoting informed decision-making.
- Perform routine newborn assessments, provide lactation support, and offer breastfeeding guidance.
- Offer comprehensive patient education on nutrition, physical changes in pregnancy, and self-care.
- Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, respectful, and patient-centered care.
- Document care accurately in electronic medical records and comply with regulatory standards.
- Mentor and support junior staff and students, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Qualification
- Current state license as a Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM) or eligible for certification (or applicable CPM credential).
- Board certification in midwifery or eligibility for certification with active pursuit of credentials.
- Active BLS/ACLS and neonatal resuscitation program (NRP) training.
- Minimum 2-3 years of midwifery experience in a clinical setting, with expertise in low-risk and high-risk scenarios.
- Excellent communication, empathy, cultural humility, and patient-centered listening skills.
- Ability to manage high-stress situations calmly while maintaining patient advocacy.
- Strong documentation skills and proficiency with electronic medical records.
