Job description

Valor Defense Solutions is seeking a seasoned Military Program Manager to lead high-stakes defense programs from concept through execution. This role blends strategic leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and strict adherence to DoD standards.

Ideal candidates will demonstrate a track record of delivering complex programs on time, within budget, and with measurable mission impact. You will partner with military customers, vendors, and internal teams to ensure compliance, risk mitigation, and successful outcomes.

As a key member of the programs team, you will guide planning, risk management, and execution while maintaining strong communications with government sponsors and stakeholders. You will also ensure security, procurement, and contractor performance align with applicable regulations.

Responsibility

  • Lead end-to-end defense program management including scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Develop and maintain program artifacts such as PID, WBS, IMS, risk register, and change control.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams (engineering, logistics, security) and military customer stakeholders.
  • Manage procurement and contractor performance in compliance with DoD regulations and security requirements.
  • Monitor risk, issues, and change management; implement mitigation plans and escalation paths.
  • Ensure program documentation adheres to security and privacy policies; support audits and inspections.
  • Communicate program status to senior leadership and government sponsors; prepare briefs and executive reports.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Sciences, or related field; Master’s preferred.
  • 7+ years of program management experience in defense, aerospace, or government contracting.
  • PMP or equivalent certification; DoD 5000 program experience.
  • Active DoD security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex schedules with IMS and WBS.
  • Strong knowledge of DoD procurement, contracting, FAR/DFARS, and contract administration.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; proven ability to brief senior executives and government stakeholders.
