We are seeking a results-driven Mining Engineer to join our Denver-based team and lead design, planning, and safety initiatives across both open-pit and underground operations.

In this role, you will collaborate with geology, operations, and maintenance teams to optimize ore extraction, improve ground control, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards. Responsibility

  • Lead and optimize mine design and production planning to maximize ore recovery while minimizing dilution and losses.
  • Perform geotechnical assessments, rock mechanics analyses, and support design to enhance stability and safety across operations.
  • Develop and implement ventilation, dewatering, and blasting plans in coordination with operations and safety teams.
  • Estimate capital and operating costs; support budgeting, scheduling, and financial decision-making.
  • Oversee regulatory compliance, permitting, and environmental considerations; liaise with regulators and local stakeholders.
  • Conduct field inspections, collect data, and monitor performance to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead cross-functional project teams, mentor junior engineers, and manage deliverables within deadlines.
  • Utilize industry-standard software (Surpac, Deswik, Leapfrog, AutoCAD) to model deposits and generate actionable designs.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Mineral Processing, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of professional mining engineering experience in open-pit and/or underground operations.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure or the ability to obtain within 12 months.
  • Strong knowledge of rock mechanics, ground control, ventilation planning, and blasting design.
  • Proficiency with mining software (Surpac, Deswik, Leapfrog, AutoCAD) and data analysis tools (Excel, Python, SQL).
  • Excellent project management, communication, and leadership skills; proven ability to work across disciplines.
  • Willingness to travel to field sites and maintain a rigorous safety-first mindset.
  • Fluency in English; ability to present technical information to diverse audiences.
