TerraNova Mining Solutions is seeking a Senior Mining Engineer to join our Perth-based team. This role offers exposure to world-class open-pit and underground operations, integrating geology, design, and production planning to deliver safe, efficient, long-term value.
As a senior professional, you will lead technical solutions, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams on strategic mine development and optimization projects. You will influence design choices, drive performance improvements, and contribute to safety, sustainability, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibility
- Lead the development of mine designs and production schedules that optimize value, safety, and reliability.
- Perform geotechnical assessments, rock mass rating, and boundary conditions for open-pit and underground operations.
- Coordinate drilling, blasting, and blasting design with geological and geotechnical teams to meet ore grade control targets.
- Develop short- and long-range mine plans using industry-standard software (Surpac, Vulcan, Deswik, Carlson).
- Lead risk assessments, management of change, and incident investigations; champion safety and environmental stewardship.
- Mentor and coach junior engineers, provide technical reviews, and support competency development across the team.
- Collaborate with production, maintenance, and procurement to optimize equipment and cyclic planning.
- Prepare technical reports, cost estimates, and stakeholder presentations for internal and external audiences.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a closely related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum 5-7 years of mining experience with emphasis on design, planning, and operational optimization.
- Strong knowledge of mine design software (Surpac, Vulcan, Carlson, Deswik) and planning tools.
- Solid understanding of geotechnical concepts, ore control, and grade reconciliation.
- Experience with underground and open-pit operations; familiarity with blasting and rock mechanics.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Registered professional engineer or eligibility for professional engineering license in Australia is a plus.
- Willingness to travel to site locations and work in remote environments as required.
