TerraNova Mining Solutions is seeking a Senior Mining Engineer to lead mine design and project execution across our Western Australia portfolio. This role blends hands-on engineering with strategic planning, safety leadership, and cross-disciplinary collaboration to optimize ore extraction and drive sustainable growth.

What you will do includes leading design optimization, coordinating with geology and operations, and delivering high-quality technical reports that support decision making and budgets.
Responsibility
- Lead the design and optimization of open-pit and underground mine plans using leading software (Surpac, Deswik, and Datamine).
- Conduct geotechnical analyses and rock mechanics assessments to support safe and efficient ore extraction.
- Prepare technical reports, schedules, and cost estimates for board review and project approvals.
- Collaborate with geologists, metallurgists, and operations to implement blasting, sequencing, and production strategies.
- Monitor and improve safety, environmental compliance, and sustainable mining practices across sites.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers and field staff; lead technical reviews and design audits.
Qualification
- Degree in Mining Engineering or related field; Master’s preferred.
- Minimum 8 years of mining project experience in open-pit or underground operations.
- Proficiency with mine design software (Surpac, Deswik, Datamine); strong MS Excel skills.
- Strong understanding of geotechnical engineering, rock mechanics, and blasting design.
- Proven track record leading multidisciplinary teams and coordinating with field operations.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and report writing abilities.
- Willingness to travel to sites and participate in on-site risk assessments and audits.
