Responsibility

  • Lead comprehensive mine planning and scheduling for open pit and underground operations, ensuring optimal ore recovery and cost efficiency.
  • Coordinate with geology, metallurgy, and production teams to develop and implement short- and long-term plans.
  • Develop and review feasibility studies, mine designs, and life-of-mine plans using industry-standard software (Datamine, Vulcan, Surpac).
  • Monitor safety, risk management, and regulatory compliance; promote a proactive safety culture on site.
  • Drive ore control and reconciliation processes to maximize grade quality and production throughput.
  • Support equipment selection, blasting optimization, and ventilation planning to improve efficiency.
  • Prepare technical reports and present findings to stakeholders and senior leadership.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a closely related field; Master's preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of hands-on mining engineering experience in open pit and/or underground operations.
  • Professional accreditation or eligibility for Chartered Engineer status (or equivalent) in Australia.
  • Strong proficiency in mine planning software (Datamine, Vulcan, Surpac) and data management.
  • Solid understanding of rock mechanics, geotechnical risk assessment, and ore control techniques.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills.
  • Commitment to safety regulations, environment, and community relations on mine sites.
  • Willingness to relocate or commute to Perth; ability to work across multiple shifts as needed.
