Job description
ByteDance's Global Payments team is building cutting-edge, compliant payment solutions across markets. We are seeking a strategic Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) to lead the anti-money laundering and financial crime program, ensuring our payments ecosystem meets rigorous regulatory standards while delivering a seamless customer experience.
As the MLRO, you will own the AML/CFT framework for ByteDance Global Payments, overseeing risk-based controls, transaction monitoring, customer due diligence (CDD) and enhanced due diligence (EDD), and ongoing risk assessments. You will manage suspicious activity reporting (SARs) and act as the primary liaison with regulators and law enforcement on financial crime matters. Your leadership will extend to policy development, training, audit readiness, and incident response—driving continuous improvement across our global payments rails.
You will collaborate closely with Legal, Compliance, Product, and Engineering to embed robust AML controls into onboarding flows, payment processing, and disbursement workflows. This role combines hands-on execution with strategic influence, translating complex regulatory requirements into practical, scalable solutions that protect ByteDance, our customers, and partners while enabling growth in a rapidly evolving fintech landscape.
Based in Singapore with global reach, the MLRO will shape regulatory strategy, oversee examinations, and mentor a high-performing team. If you are results-oriented, communicate with impact, and thrive in a fast-paced technology company, this is an unmatched opportunity to define the future of compliant payments at ByteDance.
