Responsibility
- Interpret clinical measurements and prescriptions to design orthotic insoles using 3D modelling software and CAD/CAM workflows.
- Prepare and machine orthotics blanks on CNC milling equipment, ensuring precise dimensions, smooth finishes, and durable materials.
- Validate fit and function by coordinating with clinicians and therapists, adjusting models as needed.
- Develop and modify 3D models to accommodate variations in foot anatomy, gait, and patient comfort.
- Program, load, and troubleshoot CNC milling sequences; monitor machine performance and maintain tooling.
- Inspect finished devices for quality, document fabrication steps, and ensure traceability.
- Maintain a clean, safe work environment and adhere to health, safety, and company standards.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce lead times and improve accuracy.
Qualification
- Diploma or degree in orthotics/prosthetics fabrication, biomedical engineering, or a related field; hands-on experience a plus.
- Experience with 3D modelling software (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar) and CAD/CAM workflows.
- Hands-on experience with CNC milling, machine setup, toolpath optimization, and inspection methods.
- Strong attention to detail, measurement accuracy, and quality control.
- Ability to interpret prescriptions and patient measurements; good communication with clinicians.
- Problem-solving mindset, manual dexterity, and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Team-oriented with good collaboration and documentation skills.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to evolving technologies and processes.
