Responsibility

  • Lead engaging, informative walking tours of Lisbon's historic districts (Baixa, Alfama, Belém) for groups up to 20 guests.
  • Deliver accurate historical and cultural context in clear English; accommodate additional languages when needed.
  • Provide exceptional guest service, manage group dynamics, and handle on-tour logistics with professionalism.
  • Safeguard guest safety and ensure adherence to company policies and local regulations.
  • Adapt routes and content based on weather, crowd flow, and guest interests.
  • Collaborate with local partners to coordinate tickets, experiences, and tasting stops as appropriate.
  • Capture guest feedback and assist with on-tour troubleshooting and issue resolution.

Qualification

  • Fluent in English; proficiency in Portuguese required; additional languages (Spanish, French, German) a plus.
  • 1+ year experience as a tour guide or in a customer-facing hospitality role.
  • Strong storytelling, public speaking, and interpersonal skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of Lisbon's history, culture, landmarks, and local neighborhoods.
  • Availability to work on weekends, holidays, and peak seasons; flexible schedule.
  • Valid work permit to work in Portugal; EU citizenship preferred.
  • First-aid certified or willingness to obtain certification within 3 months.
