We seek a charismatic, knowledgeable Tour Guide who can bring stories to life, ensure guest safety, and exceed expectations on every tour. This role is ideal for someone passionate about Australian history, coastal scenery, and delivering exceptional guest service. Fluency in English is required; additional languages are a plus.
As a Tour Guide, you will lead daily itineraries, engage guests with compelling storytelling, coordinate with operations for smooth pacing, and foster memorable experiences for diverse groups. You will monitor safety, adapt tours for accessibility, and contribute to continuous improvement through guest feedback.
Responsibility
- Lead daily tours across multiple itineraries with enthusiasm and accuracy.
- Engage guests with compelling storytelling and local insights.
- Coordinate with operations to maintain pacing, safety, and logistics.
- Provide exceptional customer service and respond to guest inquiries.
- Explain cultural, historical, and natural context; adapt for diverse audiences.
- Monitor group dynamics and ensure inclusivity, accessibility, and safety.
- Assist with onboarding, equipment checks, and safety briefings.
- Capture feedback and contribute to tour enhancements and upsell opportunities.
Qualification
- 2+ years of tour guiding or customer-facing experience preferred.
- Excellent public speaking and storytelling skills.
- Fluent English; additional languages (e.g., Mandarin, Spanish, Japanese) a plus.
- Strong knowledge of Sydney landmarks, history, and local culture.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and peak seasons.
- First aid certification and robust safety awareness; comfortable leading groups outdoors.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities, and a professional appearance.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to manage multiple groups simultaneously.
