As a Patient Service Associate specializing in financial counselling, you will be an essential link between patients and accessible healthcare. You will help individuals understand their financial support options and navigate subsidies, ensuring finances are not a barrier to essential care. Responsibility
- Provide financial counselling and advice to patients and their families on available healthcare financial assistance schemes and subsidies.
- Assess patient eligibility for different financial support programs based on current guidelines and requirements.
- Assist patients in the application process for subsidy schemes, Medifund, and other government grants.
- Accurately document financial assessments and maintain comprehensive records in healthcare information systems.
- Liaise with internal healthcare professionals, external agencies, and social workers to coordinate patient support.
- Offer outstanding customer service and ensure patient confidentiality and data privacy at all times.
- Participate in financial counselling training and ongoing professional development initiatives.
- Resolve financial queries and administrative issues efficiently and empathetically.
Qualification
- Minimum GCE ‘O’ Level or diploma in any discipline; higher qualification in healthcare administration or related field is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills in English; additional language proficiency is a plus.
- Prior experience in customer service, hospital, clinic, or healthcare financial counselling preferred but not essential.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Meticulous attention to detail and high level of accuracy in data entry and documentation.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with absolute confidentiality and professionalism.
- Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help others.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
