The Program Director will work with curators, directors, and creators to develop seasons, manage operations, and foster partnerships that elevate the arts ecosystem in New York.
Responsibility
- Lead the development of the annual season and program strategy across theatre, dance, and interdisciplinary works.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, fundraising, and donor relations to ensure sustainable operations.
- Manage casting, artist contracts, and relationships with directors, choreographers, and creators.
- Coordinate production logistics from concept to performance, including scheduling, venues, tech, and safety compliance.
- Build partnerships with schools, community organizations, and sponsors to expand access and participation.
- Develop and execute audience development strategies, marketing plans, and ticketing initiatives.
- Lead, mentor, and supervise program staff and interns; foster a collaborative, inclusive culture.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Arts Administration, Theatre, Dance, or related field; Master's preferred.
- 5+ years of leadership experience in performing arts administration or production management.
- Proven success in fundraising, grant writing, and budget stewardship.
- Strong knowledge of production workflows, venues, and technical requirements.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Commitment to DEI, accessibility, and community-centered programming.
- Ability to travel within the region as needed and work non-traditional hours as required by performances.
- Proficiency with CRM, ticketing systems, and digital marketing tools.
