Join a vibrant community of artists at Lumina Theatre Collective as a Performing Arts Program Director. This full-time leadership role oversees artistic programming, production planning, and community impact for our theatre company and outreach initiatives in the New York City area.
You will collaborate with artists, directors, designers, funders, and audiences to deliver high‑quality productions and programs that elevate diverse voices in the performing arts.
Key responsibilities include shaping an annual artistic calendar, guiding casting and rehearsal planning, managing budgets and fundraising, and expanding partnerships with schools, venues, and festivals.
Ideal candidates bring extensive arts administration experience, strong leadership and communication skills, and a deep passion for audience development and inclusive programming.
Responsibility
- Lead the development and execution of the annual artistic calendar across theatre, dance, and multidisciplinary performances.
- Oversee casting, rehearsal scheduling, and production planning to ensure timely and high-quality performances within budget.
- Manage program budgets, allocate resources, and drive fundraising strategies including grant writing and donor stewardship.
- Cultivate partnerships with schools, community organizations, and festivals to broaden access and audience reach.
- Recruit, mentor, and supervise artistic and production staff, ensuring safety standards and professional development.
- Collaborate with Marketing and Communications to craft compelling campaigns and audience development initiatives.
- Monitor program evaluation metrics, report impact, and implement improvements for ongoing excellence.
- Represent the organization at events, conferences, and meetings with stakeholders.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Arts Administration, Theatre, Dance, or related field; Master’s preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of performing arts management experience in programming, production, and fundraising.
- Proven leadership, negotiation, and relationship-building skills with a collaborative mindset.
- Strong budgeting, grant writing, and donor stewardship experience.
- Knowledge of casting, rehearsal coordination, stage management, and safety standards.
- Extensive network with artists, venues, and community partners in New York or the region.
- Excellent communication, project management, and problem-solving abilities; flexible schedule as needed.
