NovaArts Center is seeking a dynamic Performing Arts Program Manager to lead our multi-disciplinary programs in New York City. This role blends artistic collaboration with operational excellence to deliver high-impact experiences across theater, dance, and live music.
You will partner with artistic directors, production teams, and external partners to shape seasonal programming, nurture community engagement, and ensure sustainable, high-quality productions.

Responsibility
- Develop and manage the seasonal program calendar, including audition cycles, rehearsals, resident artist engagements, and public performances.
- Coordinate all production elements from concept through execution, ensuring on-time delivery and within budget.
- Oversee budgeting, tracking expenses, and grant-funded initiatives; prepare regular financial reports for leadership and funders.
- Cultivate partnerships with artists, directors, schools, and community organizations to expand reach and diversify programming.
- Lead marketing and audience development efforts in collaboration with the marketing team, including ticketing strategies and program descriptions.
- Ensure compliance with safety, accessibility, labor, and union regulations; maintain risk assessments and emergency plans.
- Supervise and mentor program staff and interns; delegate tasks effectively and build a collaborative team culture.
- Assess program outcomes through data collection, surveys, and KPIs; present insights to inform future planning.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Arts Administration, Theater, Dance, or related field; master’s preferred.
- 3–5 years of experience in performing arts program management, production coordination, or equivalent roles.
- Proven ability to manage complex schedules, budgets, and multi-stakeholder projects.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills with artists, partners, and funders.
- Experience with ticketing systems (e.g., Tessitura, Spektrix) and CRM tools; data-driven decision making.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and rehearsal periods as required.
- Knowledge of grant writing and fundraising practices is a plus.
