Job description
TerraNova Energy is seeking a results-driven Petroleum Engineer to join our Houston office. You will contribute to reservoir evaluations, production optimization, and field development planning for multi-well projects. This role offers a clear path to leadership within a dynamic, safety-first energy company.
As part of the team, you will collaborate with geoscience, drilling, and facilities groups to design robust field development plans, build accurate reservoir models, and optimize production performance across assets. You will also conduct economic analyses, manage data quality, and advance innovations in enhanced oil recovery and digital oilfield initiatives.
Responsibility
- Conduct thorough reservoir engineering analyses and reserves assessments to support development planning.
- Design, model, and optimize production systems and well interventions to maximize recovery.
- Build and maintain reservoir simulations using industry-standard software and calibrate models with dynamic data.
- Partner with drilling, facilities, geoscience, and production teams to develop integrated field development plans.
- Monitor well performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies and EOR programs.
- Prepare technical reports, economic evaluations, and scenario analyses to inform capital allocation decisions.
- Ensure compliance with HSE standards, regulatory requirements, and corporate risk management policies.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a closely related field; master's or PhD preferred.
- 5+ years of upstream petroleum engineering experience in reservoir engineering, production optimization, and field development.
- Proficiency with reservoir simulation and software tools (e.g., CMG, Eclipse, Petrel, OFM) and strong data analysis skills (Python, MATLAB).
- Solid understanding of HSE practices, safety standards, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and project management abilities; ability to lead cross-disciplinary teams.
- Willingness and ability to travel to field sites and international assignments as needed.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or eligibility strongly preferred.
