Responsibility
- Dispense prescriptions accurately and efficiently while ensuring patient safety and quality standards.
- Counsel patients on medication usage, potential interactions, adverse effects, and adherence strategies.
- Review medication orders for safety, contraindications, and therapeutic appropriateness.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and pharmacists to optimize therapy and resolve drug-related problems.
- Manage inventory, controlled substances, and medication procurement to maintain optimal stock levels.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, state and federal laws, and quality assurance programs.
- Provide leadership and training to pharmacy technicians and support staff.
Qualification
- Active Illinois Pharmacist license (or eligible for licensure).
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent from an accredited program.
- Minimum 2-5 years of hospital or retail pharmacy experience.
- Strong knowledge of pharmacology, drug interactions, dosing, and medication safety.
- Excellent communication, empathy, and patient counseling skills.
- Proficiency with pharmacy information systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, or comparable platforms).
- Detail-oriented, highly organized, and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
