Responsibility
- Ensure accurate prescription processing and dispensing in compliance with state/federal regulations.
- Provide patient counseling on medication usage, side effects, and safety considerations.
- Review medication therapy for potential interactions and contraindications; collaborate with healthcare providers.
- Administer immunizations and coordinate vaccine programs where permitted by state law.
- Lead inventory management, including medications, supplies, and controlled substances; maintain accurate records.
- Mentor and train junior staff; uphold quality assurance and patient safety initiatives.
- Utilize electronic health records and pharmacy software to optimize workflow and data integrity.
- Participate in performance improvement projects and reporting metrics to leadership.
Qualification
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited school; active pharmacist license in New York.
- Minimum of 2+ years of community or hospital pharmacy experience.
- Strong knowledge of pharmacology, drug interactions, and safety protocols.
- Excellent communication and patient counseling skills; empathetic approach to care.
- Proficiency with pharmacy software (e.g., dispensing systems, EHR, BCMA).
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and privacy practices.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and manage high-volume workflows.
- Immunization certification or willingness to obtain; commitment to ongoing professional development.
