Responsibility
- Provide accurate dispensing of prescriptions and verify orders for safety and completeness
- Counsel patients on medication usage, potential interactions, side effects, and adherence strategies
- Process prescriptions efficiently, review insurance claims, and resolve billing discrepancies
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to optimize pharmacotherapy
- Oversee pharmacy technicians and support staff to ensure accurate workflows
- Maintain inventory control, perform regular audits, and manage controlled substances per regulations
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements including HIPAA and DEA guidelines
Qualification
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited school
- Active NY State Pharmacist license or eligibility
- Minimum 2 years of experience in community or ambulatory care pharmacy
- Proficiency with pharmacy software and electronic health records
- Strong communication and patient counseling skills
- Knowledge of acute and chronic therapy management and MTM
- Commitment to patient safety, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement
