Responsibility
- Provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care by interpreting prescriptions, ensuring accuracy, dosing, monitoring for drug interactions, and preventing adverse events.
- Counsel patients on medication usage, safety, adherence, and lifestyle factors; address questions and concerns with empathy.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and care teams to optimize therapy and resolve medication-related issues.
- Verify and dispense prescriptions accurately; manage medication therapy management (MTM) programs and chronic disease management initiatives.
- Maintain pharmacy operations, ensure regulatory compliance (HIPAA, state board standards, DEA requirements), and uphold patient privacy and data security.
- Lead a small team of technicians, supervise workflow, and ensure accurate compounding and preparation where applicable.
- Participate in immunization services and clinical programs; document immunizations and maintain appropriate records.
Qualification
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree and active Pharmacist license in Massachusetts or eligibility to obtain licensure.
- Minimum 2 years of clinical or community pharmacy experience preferred.
- Strong patient communication, counseling, and problem-solving skills.
- Solid knowledge of pharmacology, medication therapy management, drug interactions, and safety protocols.
- Proficiency with pharmacy management software and electronic medical records; comfort with technology and data analysis.
- Commitment to accuracy, attention to detail, and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with excellent teamwork and time management.
- Immunization certification or willingness to obtain certification in Massachusetts is a plus.
