As a core member of our philosophy faculty, you will contribute to curriculum development, supervise student research, and participate in public philosophy initiatives that connect academic inquiry with broader audiences.
Responsibility
- Teach a balanced mix of introductory and advanced philosophy courses (ethics, metaphysics, epistemology, and related areas) to undergraduate and graduate students.
- Design engaging syllabi, assessments, and inclusive teaching practices that support diverse learners.
- Develop and advance an active research program with plans for publication in peer‑reviewed venues.
- Present research at conferences and contribute to the department's scholarly life.
- Apply for external funding or participate in grant activities when available.
- Supervise senior theses, capstones, and independent study projects.
- Engage with the public through lectures, seminars, and community events to promote philosophy outside the academy.
- Contribute to department service, curriculum development, and committee work.
Qualification
- PhD in Philosophy or imminent completion by start date with a demonstrated research trajectory.
- Proven teaching excellence with evidence from student evaluations or peer review.
- Strong publication record and a clear, ongoing research agenda.
- Ability to teach a broad range of philosophy courses and core topics.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Commitment to inclusive pedagogy and active mentorship of students from diverse backgrounds.
- Experience supervising theses, internships, or independent study projects.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a collegial department and contribute to a thriving intellectual community.
