We are seeking a dynamic Philosophy Lecturer to join the Department of Philosophy at a leading UK university. This full-time role focuses on undergraduate and master's teaching, course development, and scholarly contribution. Responsibility
- Deliver undergraduate and Master's level courses in areas such as ethics, metaphysics, epistemology, and philosophy of mind.
- Design and update curricula, assessments, and teaching materials to align with best practices in higher education.
- Mentor and advise students; supervise theses and capstone projects.
- Engage in scholarly research, publish in peer-reviewed venues, and contribute to departmental seminars.
- Contribute to departmental administration and program development, including committee work and accreditation readiness.
- Organize public lectures, seminars, and outreach activities to promote philosophy in the wider community.
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to support interdisciplinary research and teaching.
Qualification
- PhD in Philosophy or equivalent terminal degree with a strong research track record.
- Evidence of successful teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels, including curriculum development.
- Proven ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and engage diverse student populations.
- Experience supervising student research projects and theses.
- Advanced knowledge across core areas such as ethics, metaphysics, epistemology, and philosophy of mind.
- Strong commitment to inclusion, equity, and accessible education.
- Ability to secure external research funding is a plus.
