We are seeking a highly qualified Philosophy Lecturer to join the Cambridge Institute of Philosophy. This full-time faculty role focuses on teaching excellence, rigorous research, and student mentorship.
As a member of a dynamic interdisciplinary department, you will teach and contribute to our vibrant curriculum, supervise student projects, and participate in scholarly activities that advance public and academic philosophy.

Responsibility
- Teach undergraduate and graduate philosophy courses across core and elective topics while maintaining high standards of student engagement.
- Design and assess inclusive syllabi, assignments, and innovative assessment methods.
- Lead seminars, supervise student theses, and mentor junior researchers.
- Conduct original research in ethics, metaphysics, logic, or philosophy of mind, with plans for publication in peer-reviewed venues.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, program assessment, and development of new course offerings.
- Represent the department in faculty governance, outreach activities, and grant applications.
Qualification
- PhD in Philosophy or equivalent, or ABD with expected completion by start date.
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels; strong mentoring skills.
- Proven research record in areas such as ethics, metaphysics, philosophy of mind, or logic.
- Ability to teach across multiple subfields and to design innovative, evidence-based curricula.
- Strong record of scholarly publication and potential to attract external funding or fellowships.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in classroom and department activities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
