Responsibility
- Design and deliver undergraduate and graduate philosophy courses across core areas (ethics, logic, metaphysics, philosophy of mind).
- Supervise theses and independent study projects, providing mentorship to students from diverse backgrounds.
- Develop engaging syllabi, assessments, and inclusive learning environments to promote critical thinking.
- Lead seminars, reading groups, and departmental colloquia to foster scholarly discussion.
- Collaborate with faculty on research projects, grants, and publication plans.
- Publish in peer-reviewed journals and present research at local, national, and international venues.
- Participate in curriculum development, accreditation activities, and student advising.
Qualification
- PhD in Philosophy or a closely related field with evidence of ongoing research excellence.
- Relevant university teaching experience with a demonstrated record of effective pedagogy and student mentorship.
- Strong publication history and ability to secure or contribute to external funding.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; comfort teaching diverse student populations.
- Ability to teach across multiple subfields (ethics, logic, philosophy of mind, epistemology) and to develop new courses.
- Commitment to inclusive excellence, equity, and student-centered learning.
- Proficiency with digital teaching tools, research databases, and scholarly collaboration platforms.
