Responsibility
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in philosophy across areas such as ethics, logic, epistemology, and metaphysics.
- Design and update syllabi that align with program outcomes and inclusive teaching practices.
- Lead seminars, supervise student research, and provide constructive feedback on writing and projects.
- Develop and publish original research; present findings at conferences and public forums.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and interdisciplinary initiatives.
- Seek external funding opportunities and assist with grant writing as needed.
- Engage with the broader community through public philosophy events and outreach activities.
- Participate in department service, mentorship, and assessment activities to support program growth.
Qualification
- PhD in Philosophy or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
- Evidence of effective teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate level and strong classroom presence.
- Strong research agenda with publications in peer-reviewed venues.
- Ability to teach a broad range of philosophy courses and adapt to diverse student populations.
- Commitment to inclusive pedagogy, equity, and access in education.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proficient in academic writing and presentation.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse, multidisciplinary environment and contribute to service and program development.
