NovaLux Institute of Philosophy & Ethics is seeking a dedicated Philosophy Research Editor to join our interdisciplinary team in Boston. Responsibility
- Conduct comprehensive literature reviews across ethics, epistemology, metaphysics, and related areas to inform project direction.
- Collaborate with researchers to develop research questions, hypotheses, and grant proposals.
- Edit and polish scholarly manuscripts, conference papers, and grant reports for publication and presentation.
- Manage editorial timelines, track revisions, and coordinate with authors, peer reviewers, and internal stakeholders.
- Present findings at internal seminars and external conferences; contribute to public-facing philosophy programs.
- Contribute to the development of ethical frameworks and methodological standards for ongoing projects.
- Mentor junior researchers and graduate interns, fostering rigorous scholarship and academic writing skills.
- Maintain an organized digital library of sources and assist with data curation for research outputs.
Qualification
- Doctoral degree (PhD) in Philosophy or near completion with strong research publications.
- Expertise in ethics (moral / political), and strong background in analytic philosophy; broad knowledge across subfields preferred.
- Proven track record of scholarly writing and peerâreviewed publications; experience with editing and revising scholarly work.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to convey complex ideas clearly to varied audiences.
- Proficiency with academic citation styles (APA, Chicago) and manuscript preparation guidelines.
- Strong project management skills; ability to manage multiple deadlines and coordinate with collaborators.
- Experience with research databases, library resources, and discourse analysis tools.
- Teaching, presenting at conferences, or public philosophy outreach is a plus.
