Job description
NovaFocus Studio, a premium photography house in the heart of New York City, seeks an experienced Photographer to join our editorial and commercial teams. This role blends creative direction, lighting mastery, and hands-on production to deliver stunning imagery for fashion, lifestyle, and consumer brands.
You will collaborate with art directors, stylists, and clients to conceptualize shoots, scout locations, direct talent, and ensure flawless production from concept to final retouch.
Responsibility
- Shoot high profile editorial and commercial assignments on location and in studio.
- Plan and execute creative concepts with art directors; direct models, stylists, and crew.
- Manage production logistics including location scouting, permits, wardrobe coordination, and equipment rental.
- Capture, edit, and deliver RAW imagery; perform color grading and retouching in post-production.
- Collaborate with in-house and external retouching teams to maintain brand consistency.
- Maintain and service lighting gear; upgrade and calibrate equipment as needed.
- Adhere to timelines, budgets, and client expectations; communicate progress clearly.
- Mentor junior photographers and contribute to ongoing studio process improvements.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in photography or equivalent professional experience.
- 5+ years of professional photography experience in editorial and commercial contexts.
- Strong portfolio across fashion, lifestyle, and product shoots.
- Proficiency with studio lighting, modifiers, and on-location lighting setups.
- Advanced editing skills in Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, and Capture One.
- Solid knowledge of color management and retouching workflows.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and time-management abilities.
- Willingness to travel, adapt to a fast-paced environment, and work flexible hours as needed.
