Join the Center for Policy Impact, a premier think tank based in Washington, DC, as a Policy Analyst. This role combines rigorous policy research, data interpretation, and strategic communication to influence public policy and drive outcomes.
We value initiative, collaboration, and evidence-based analysis. You will work closely with senior researchers, partners, and policymakers to produce high-impact briefs, issue papers, and short policy memos.
Responsibility
- Conduct comprehensive policy research across allocated issue areas and synthesize findings into actionable briefs.
- Design and execute research plans, including literature reviews, data collection, and qualitative/quantitative analysis.
- Develop policy memos, briefings, and issue papers for internal teams and external partners.
- Track legislative developments, regulatory changes, and political trends relevant to our programs.
- Collaborate with communications and policy teams to translate research into accessible content for diverse audiences.
- Present findings to internal stakeholders and external partners, including briefings for policymakers.
- Assist in the planning and coordination of events, panels, and public forums on policy topics.
- Support impact evaluation and metrics to demonstrate policy influence.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Economics, or a related field; Master’s preferred.
- 3+ years of policy research or government affairs experience.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills; proficiency with Excel, data visualization, and basic statistics.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to convey complex ideas clearly.
- Experience with stakeholder engagement and policy advocacy.
- Proficiency in research databases and legislative tracking tools; familiarity with Stata/R is a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- U.S. work authorization; willingness to work in Washington, DC.
