Capitol Insight Partners is seeking a highly motivated Policy Analyst to join our Washington, DC team. This role centers on rigorous policy research, data-driven analysis, and the production of clear, actionable briefs for clients and internal stakeholders. In this role, you will collaborate across policy areas to deliver evidence-based insights that inform strategy, messaging, and advocacy. You will work closely with clients, partners, and cross-functional teams to translate complex data into concise, persuasive materials that shape policy discussions and outcomes.
Responsibility
- Conduct rigorous policy research on assigned issues, synthesizing findings into concise briefs and memos.
- Monitor legislative developments, regulatory actions, and political dynamics to anticipate policy shifts.
- Draft policy papers, issue briefs, briefing notes, and client-ready materials with clarity and precision.
- Collaborate with communications, research, and government affairs teams to shape policy positions and messaging.
- Engage with external stakeholders, including lawmakers, think tanks, NGOs, and industry groups, to gather insights and build coalitions.
- Present findings to internal teams and clients, translating complex data into actionable recommendations.
- Support project management, research design, and quality control to ensure timely, accurate deliverables.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Economics, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- 3+ years of policy research, government affairs, or public-sector experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication; ability to translate complex analysis into clear briefs.
- Solid understanding of the U.S. legislative process and policy landscape in DC.
- Proficiency with data analysis tools (Excel) and comfort with data visualization; experience with R or Python is a plus.
- Excellent organization and time-management; ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work across cross-functional teams.
