Job description

Capitol Policy Partners is seeking a highly skilled Policy Analyst to join our dynamic DC office. This role requires strong research, data interpretation, and the ability to translate complex policy issues into clear, actionable insights for policymakers, stakeholders, and the public.

You will collaborate with our interdisciplinary team to monitor legislative activity, evaluate policy proposals, and produce briefing memos, issue briefs, and research reports that inform strategic decision-making.

Responsibility

  • Conduct comprehensive policy research on assigned topics, including data gathering, literature review, and expert interviews.
  • Monitor and summarize legislative and regulatory developments at the federal and state levels.
  • Develop evidence-based policy briefs, memos, and fact sheets for internal teams and external partners.
  • Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to assess policy impacts and cost-effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with researchers, communications, and government affairs teams to translate findings into accessible content.
  • Support stakeholder engagement through event coordination, briefings, and correspondence with policymakers and advocates.
  • Present research findings to internal teams and external audiences, including public forums and policy briefings.
  • Maintain rigorous documentation and ensure quality control for all deliverables.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Economics, or related field; Master's preferred.
  • 3+ years of policy research or government affairs experience in a political or policy-focused organization.
  • Strong understanding of federal and state policy processes, legislative tracking, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and research methods; experience with Excel and data visualization is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to translate complex concepts into clear briefings.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong judgment, integrity, and ability to handle confidential information.
