At CivicInsight Institute, we pursue rigorous, nonpartisan policy analysis to inform policymakers and the public. We are seeking a Policy Analyst to advance research, synthesize data, and communicate insights across diverse audiences.
As a key member of our policy research team, you will design studies, coordinate with subject matter experts, and deliver actionable briefs and presentations to stakeholders.
Responsibility
- Design and execute research projects analyzing public policy issues, with emphasis on economic, social, and civic impact.
- Collect, clean, and analyze data from public datasets, surveys, and partner organizations; provide quantitative summaries.
- Interpret findings and draft policy briefs, reports, and memos tailored to policymakers and nontechnical audiences.
- Monitor legislative developments and produce timely analysis of bills, hearings, and regulatory actions.
- Collaborate with communications and government affairs teams to translate research into strategy and messaging.
- Present findings to internal teams and external stakeholders; contribute to testimony preparation and briefings.
- Support project management, timelines, and quality control to ensure rigorous, reproducible results.
Qualification
- Master's degree in public policy, political science, economics, or a related field; PhD a plus.
- Minimum 3 years of policy analysis experience, preferably in think tanks, government, or non-profit organizations.
- Strong quantitative skills (statistical methods, data visualization, Excel, R/Python) and qualitative research abilities.
- Proficiency with policy databases, legislative tracking tools, and research design.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to translate complex topics for diverse audiences.
- Strong project management and collaboration skills; ability to manage multiple deadlines.
