Capitol Insight Group is seeking a detail-oriented Policy Analyst to join our Public Affairs team in Washington, DC. The ideal candidate will conduct rigorous policy research, synthesize complex information into accessible briefs, and support advocacy efforts with data-driven insights.
As a Policy Analyst, you will collaborate with government affairs professionals, researchers, and external stakeholders to monitor legislative developments, assess policy impacts, and craft evidence-based recommendations.
Responsibility
- Monitor and analyze legislation and regulatory proposals relevant to clients or campaigns.
- Prepare policy briefs, memos, and testimony summaries for clients, coalitions, and public-facing materials.
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative research to assess policy impacts and cost estimates.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to translate complex data into clear narratives.
- Support outreach and coalition-building with stakeholders and grassroots partners.
- Prepare briefing materials for leadership and clients ahead of hearings and events.
- Track regulatory processes and provide timely updates on political developments and public sentiment.
- Ensure compliance with lobbying and ethics guidelines in all deliverables.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Law, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in policy analysis, government affairs, or legislative research.
- Proven ability to synthesize complex information into concise briefs.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting to diverse audiences.
- Familiarity with DC policy landscape and legislative processes.
- Proficiency in research methods, data interpretation, and basic statistics.
- Ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines.
- Ethics-conscious mindset and ability to handle confidential information.
