Capstone Policy Institute, a leading nonpartisan think tank in Washington, DC, is seeking a Policy Analyst to advance evidence-based public policy. This role drives rigorous research, policy briefs, and stakeholder outreach to inform lawmakers, agencies, and the public.
As a Policy Analyst, you will design and execute research projects, synthesize complex information into clear recommendations, and monitor legislative and regulatory developments at the federal level.

Responsibility
- Design, execute, and synthesize policy research using qualitative and quantitative methods.
- Track federal and congressional developments, regulatory actions, and data sources relevant to assigned policy areas.
- Develop policy memos, briefs, and explainer documents for diverse audiences including lawmakers, media, and the public.
- Collaborate with internal researchers, external partners, and stakeholders to validate findings and gather diverse perspectives.
- Contribute to think tank products, including issue briefs, interactive data dashboards, and testimony-ready materials.
- Present findings through internal seminars and public events, translating complex data into actionable insights.
- Support grant reporting, project management, and knowledge sharing across teams.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in political science, public policy, economics, or a related field; master’s preferred.
- 3+ years of policy research or government affairs experience, preferably in DC or the federal level.
- Strong quantitative and qualitative research skills, including data analysis, literature reviews, and evidence synthesis.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to translate complex ideas into concise briefings.
- Experience with legislative tracking tools, policy databases, and data visualization is a plus.
- Strong project management, organization, and collaboration skills; ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
