Responsibility
- Conduct in-depth policy research on legislative proposals and public policy issues across multiple domains
- Monitor federal, state and local developments; synthesize implications for stakeholders and decision makers
- Draft policy briefs, memos and testimonies with clear, actionable recommendations
- Collaborate with researchers, communications, and campaigns to translate findings into accessible materials
- Engage with legislators, advocates and coalitions to inform policy direction and build support
- Maintain and update policy databases, trackers, and dashboards to support decision making
- Support grant writing and fundraising efforts for policy initiatives
- Represent the organization at events, briefings, and policy forums as needed
Qualification
- Bachelor degree in political science, public policy, economics or a related field; graduate degree preferred
- 3+ years of policy analysis, government affairs, or political research experience
- Strong research and analytical capabilities with experience in quantitative methods
- Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to translate complex policy into accessible briefs
- Experience with stakeholder engagement, coalition building and public speaking
- Familiarity with policy databases, legislative tracking tools and data visualization software
- Strong project management skills with attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Knowledge of U.S. policy processes and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
