Capitol Catalyst Group is seeking a results-driven Policy Analyst to join our public policy team in Washington, DC. This role focuses on rigorous research, data-driven insights, and proactive collaboration with government partners and advocacy coalitions. The ideal candidate combines analytical rigor with strong communications and a passion for evidence-based policy.
As a member of our policy team, you will contribute to multifaceted research projects that influence state and federal policy discussions. You will work across cross-functional teams to deliver timely intelligence, briefings, and policy memos to leadership and clients.
Responsibility
- Conduct comprehensive policy research on assigned issue areas, including statutory frameworks, budgetary impacts, and comparative analysis.
- Monitor federal and state legislative activities; summarize proposals and potential implications for clients.
- Prepare policy briefs, memoranda, and data visualizations to inform decision-makers.
- Engage with stakeholders, including government officials, think tanks, and advocacy groups, to gather insights.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate research into actionable recommendations and strategic communications.
- Present findings to senior leadership and client teams; support media and public affairs efforts as needed.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of political developments and ensure compliance with ethical guidelines.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Economics, or a related field; master's preferred.
- 3-6 years of policy research or government affairs experience.
- Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis skills; proficiency with data sources and basic statistics.
- Experience with policy briefs, memos, and executive summaries.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to tailor messages for diverse audiences.
- Ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines and prioritize effectively.
- Familiarity with legislative processes and government budgeting is a plus.
