This senior role blends rigorous policy analysis with strategic communications to advance evidence-based public policy across federal and state governments. In this role, you will collaborate with senior leadership to shape a proactive policy agenda, oversee research teams, and translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for policymakers, partners, and the media. You will also guide messaging and outreach campaigns to ensure policy recommendations are understood and adopted.

Responsibility

  • Lead development of policy briefs, white papers, issue briefs, and testimony materials on priority issues.
  • Direct legislative affairs strategy and engagement across federal agencies, Congress, and relevant state capitals.
  • Build and maintain robust coalitions with policymakers, think tanks, NGOs, and industry stakeholders.
  • Oversee research projects, supervise junior analysts, and ensure high-quality, timely deliverables.
  • Collaborate with Communications to craft compelling messaging, op-eds, and media outreach.
  • Prepare briefings, talking points, and strategic recommendations for senior leadership and external partners.
  • Monitor, analyze, and forecast policy developments, regulatory changes, and political dynamics.
  • Represent the organization at policy forums, hearings, and stakeholder meetings.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in political science, public policy, economics, or a related field; master's preferred.
  • 7+ years of policy analysis or government affairs experience, with a track record in federal policy and DC engagement.
  • Strong research methods, data analysis, and ability to translate complex findings into clear recommendations.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with experience presenting to senior leaders and external audiences.
  • Proven ability to build coalitions, manage multiple priorities, and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with legislative tracking tools, policy databases, and MS Office; experience with data visualization tools is a plus.
  • High integrity, strategic thinker, and results-driven with a passion for public service.
