Responsibility
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate lessons for primary students (grades 1-5) aligned to state standards.
- Create a positive, inclusive classroom culture that supports diverse learners.
- Assess student progress using varied methods and maintain accurate records.
- Differentiation strategies to meet individual student needs and IEP/504 accommodations where applicable.
- Incorporate technology to enhance learning and digital literacy.
- Communicate regularly with families about student achievement and progress.
- Collaborate with colleagues to design cross-curricular activities and school-wide initiatives.
- Manage classroom routines, behavior expectations, and student safety.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Education or related field; valid New York State teaching certification for Elementary Education (K-6) or equivalent.
- 2+ years of classroom teaching experience with primary-aged students.
- Proven ability to plan and deliver differentiated instruction aligned to CCSS/NY standards.
- Strong classroom management and behavior management skills.
- Excellent communication and partnership with families and colleagues.
- Proficiency with educational technology and data-driven instruction.
- Commitment to inclusive education and creating a safe, supportive learning environment.
- Willingness to participate in school activities and ongoing professional development.
