Job description
Micron Semiconductors is seeking a Principal Engineer to lead Process Development in Photolithography for NAND manufacturing at our Singapore campus. This role sits at the intersection of science and manufacturing, shaping the photolithography roadmap, guiding innovation in materials, tooling, and process integration to enable next-generation memory devices. You will influence device performance, yield, and cost through robust process development, rigorous experimentation, and close collaboration with cross-functional teams across Equipment, Process Integration, Yield, and Manufacturing.
As a technical leader, you will own the design of experiments (DOE), statistical process control (SPC), and process characterization efforts to drive stable, high-yield photolithography processes. You will define process specifications, establish robust process windows, and ensure qualification gates are met for pilot and production deployment. You will manage project plans, schedules, and budgets, mentor engineers and technicians, and advocate a culture of continuous improvement and safe, compliant manufacturing practices.
You will partner with tool vendors and materials suppliers, evaluate new exposures, photoresists, masks, and metrology capabilities, and translate lab-scale learnings into scalable, production-ready processes. Your day-to-day work will involve data-driven troubleshooting, advanced analytics (Python, MATLAB, or similar), and automating data collection to accelerate decisions. You will work with global teams to share best practices and drive standardization across sites, ensuring robust quality and reliability of memory devices.
To succeed, you should bring deep domain expertise in photolithography, overlay control, resist chemistry, exposure tool operation (ASML/Nikon), and process integration within NAND manufacturing. Excellent communication and collaboration skills are essential to influence stakeholders and lead multi-disciplinary teams in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. If you are passionate about semiconductor innovation and ready to lead a critical function in Singapore, we want to hear from you.
Responsibility
- Lead end-to-end photolithography process development for NAND manufacturing, from concept to deployment in high-volume production.
- Develop and execute DOE and SPC programs to optimize yield, uniformity, overlay, and productivity.
- Define next-generation photolithography roadmaps, tooling, materials, and process integration strategies; coordinate with Equipment, Process Integration, Yield, and Manufacturing teams.
- Own process characterization, parameter sensitivity studies, risk assessment, and robust qualification plans for pilot and production stages.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to scale processes from pilot to production, ensuring safety, quality, and manufacturability targets are met.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources; mentor engineers and technicians; drive a culture of continuous improvement and technical leadership.
- Engage with external tool vendors and materials suppliers to validate performance, define requirements, and secure ongoing support.
- Provide data-driven decision making and drive automation for data collection and analysis to accelerate process optimization.
Qualification
- PhD in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; or MS with 10+ years of hands-on photolithography experience in semiconductor manufacturing.
- Deep expertise in photolithography processes for NAND, including exposure tools (ASML/Nikon), mask alignment, photoresist chemistry, and overlay control.
- Proven track record delivering high-yield, robust process development and successful scale-up from pilot to production in a semiconductor setting.
- Strong DOE, statistical methods (SPC, DOE), and data analytics skills (Python, JMP, Minitab, R).
- Excellent collaboration and leadership capabilities; experience guiding cross-functional teams across Equipment, Process Integration, Yield, and Manufacturing.
- Hands-on lab/cleanroom experience; familiarity with safety and quality standards (SEMI, ISO); ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment in Singapore.
