Join Aurora Stage Collective, a contemporary performing arts company dedicated to innovative theatre and live performance. We are seeking a visionary Producing Director to lead artistic planning, budget oversight, and audience development.
In this full-time role, you will partner with artists, designers, and development staff to produce high-quality productions across seasons, while cultivating a vibrant and inclusive artistic community in New York.
As a strategic leader, you will drive programmatic excellence, steward resources, and build partnerships with venues, funders, and audiences to elevate our work on stage and beyond.
Responsibility
- Lead seasonal planning, budgeting, scheduling, and risk management to ensure on-time, on-budget productions.
- Oversee artistic programming in collaboration with the Artistic Director, ensuring high artistic quality and relevance.
- Manage production teams, contractors, venues, and licensing contracts from development to delivery.
- Lead fundraising, sponsorship outreach, and grant initiatives to sustain programs and growth.
- Collaborate with Marketing and Education teams to design audience development strategies and community engagement.
- Monitor compliance with unions, safety protocols, and licensing requirements across all projects.
- Build enduring relationships with artists, venues, donors, and community partners to expand opportunities.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to staff, interns, and volunteers to foster a creative, inclusive environment.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in arts administration, theatre, or a related field; Master's preferred.
- 5+ years of producing/production management experience in performing arts or live events.
- Proven track record in budgeting, fundraising, and stakeholder management with measurable outcomes.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with project management tools, CRM systems, and theater management software.
- Knowledge of union contracts, venue operations, and safety compliance.
