Are you a strategic, hands-on leader who can turn creative vision into seamless production reality? Aurora Stage Collective seeks a Production Manager to orchestrate multi-show seasons in a dynamic NYC setting.

In this role, you will partner with directors, designers, and stage management to plan and execute rehearsals, performances, and tours, while safeguarding schedule, budget, safety, and quality. You will be a key liaison across departments, ensuring a professional, collaborative environment that enables artists to thrive.

Responsibility

  • Lead pre-production planning for all shows, including scheduling, risk assessment, and resource allocation.
  • Develop and manage production budgets, timelines, and staffing plans; monitor variances and adjust as needed.
  • Coordinate with directors, designers, stage management, and crew to ensure creative intent is realized on stage.
  • Oversee run of show operations during rehearsals and performances, including cueing and safety protocols.
  • Manage vendor relationships, procure equipment and services, and ensure contracts compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, union, and venue policies; implement risk management plans.
  • Lead post-show debriefs, assess lessons learned, and implement process improvements for future seasons.
  • Mentor and develop team members, fostering a collaborative and inclusive culture.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Theatre, Arts Administration, or a related field; equivalent professional experience considered.
  • Minimum 3 years of production management experience in theatre or live performance.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and multi-project coordination.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills; ability to motivate teams under pressure.
  • Familiarity with live sound, lighting, video, and stage systems; experience with basic contingency planning.
  • Proficiency with production planning software and office productivity tools; strong data-driven decision making.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities.
