LUMINA ARTS COLLECTIVE, a dynamic performing arts company in New York City, is seeking a seasoned Production Manager to oversee stage operations across a diverse season of theatre, dance, and multi-disciplinary works. This role partners closely with artistic leadership, designers, and venues to deliver safe, high-quality productions on schedule and within budget.

As Production Manager, you will lead operational planning, manage crews, coordinate schedules, and ensure seamless run-of-show execution from load-in to strike. Responsibility

  • Oversee all production operations for live performances, including planning, load-in/load-out, rehearsals, and cue execution.
  • Develop and manage production budgets, schedules, and vendor contracts with strict cost controls.
  • Lead and coordinate stage management teams, crews, and technical staff across multiple productions.
  • Collaborate with directors, designers, and venues to translate artistic visions into feasible technical plans.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, union, and venue requirements; conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Prepare and maintain run-of-show, cue sheets, technical orders, and inventory tracking.
  • Communicate clearly with all stakeholders; resolve issues promptly to maintain production momentum.

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Arts Administration, Theatre Production, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of production management experience in performing arts or live events.
  • Strong knowledge of stage operations, lighting, sound, rigging, and safety protocols.
  • Proven budget management, vendor negotiation, and contract administration experience.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities with a collaborative mindset.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required by productions.
  • Proficiency with project management tools and MS Office; familiarity with CAD/BIM or Vectorworks is a plus.
