Job description

LumenStage is seeking a results-driven Production Manager to join our New York City based team. This role oversees the planning, coordination, and execution of multiple performing arts productions from conceptualization through final performance. The ideal candidate blends artistic sensitivity with strong operational prowess, delivering memorable experiences for audiences and artists alike.

In this role you will partner with artistic leadership, designers, technicians, and venues to ensure productions run safely, on time, and within budget. You will champion clear communication, meticulous planning, and a collaborative culture across departments.

Responsibility

  • Lead end-to-end production planning for multiple shows per season, including scheduling, logistics, and risk management.
  • Develop and manage comprehensive production budgets, labor plans, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate with directors, designers, stage managers, and venues to translate artistic vision into actionable plans.
  • Oversee rehearsals, load-in/load-out, technical runs, and show operations for each production.
  • Ensure safety compliance, risk assessments, and incident prevention across all environments.
  • Manage vendor relationships, procurement, and on-time delivery of equipment and services.
  • Provide leadership to production staff and foster a collaborative, professional working culture.

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in arts management, theatre production, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of production management experience in theatre or performing arts.
